Shawn Records holds a BA from Boise State University and an MFA from Syracuse University. His work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Contemporary Photography, LightWork, and the Portland Art Museum and has been shown widely, including two solo exhibitions at Blue Sky Gallery and group exhibitions at MoCP, PAM, Jen Bekman, Inova, and Photo Center Northwest among others. His artwork has been published widely, including Vice magazine's annual photo issue, Contact Sheet, Remain in Light, Camerawork, Picture Professional, DoubleTake, Adbusters, and others. His editorial clients have included the New York Times Magazine, Vice, LeMonde's M, Travel & Leisure, Martha Stewart Living, Runner's World, Popular Mechanics, Dwell, W, Jalous, Elle, Modern Painters, and Art & Auction, among others.
Based in Portland, Oregon, Records also teaches photography at local community colleges, continues to work on his pitiful jump shot, and spends most of his free time putzing around on the Oregon coast or searching for new and exciting news bloopers.
